Unhurried care for dogs, cats and rabbits.

A small-animal practice on Kestrel Lane since 2009. Every consultation is twenty minutes, your pet sees the same vet whenever we can manage it, and our prices are on this page.

Questions we get at the desk

Search them, or ring 0117 496 0381 and ask a person.

Do I need to register before booking?

Yes, but it's free and takes two minutes. You can register as part of booking online; bring any vaccination records to the first visit and we'll ask your old practice for the rest.

Do you claim directly from my insurer?

From most UK pet insurers, yes. You pay the excess on the day, we send the claim, and the insurer pays us. There's no admin fee for direct claims.

Can I spread the cost of bigger treatment?

For bills over £500 we offer three monthly payments at no extra cost, agreed before treatment starts. Kestrel Care members can spread dental work the same way.

Which animals do you see?

Dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters and ferrets. For birds and reptiles we refer you to a specialist exotics practice in Clifton.

What happens out of hours?

Ring our usual number and you'll be put through to Wrenfield Emergency Vets, twelve minutes' drive away. They can see your pet's records with us overnight.

Is there parking?

Six spaces behind the practice, two of them wide bays by the door. On Saturday mornings they fill by about half past nine.

Can I stay with my pet during treatment?

For examinations and vaccinations, yes. For X-rays and anything under sedation we'll ask you to wait, and we ring you as soon as they're awake.

Do you do home visits?

On Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, within three miles, for pets that can't travel and for euthanasia at home. The visit fee is £95 on top of any treatment.

How do I cancel a Kestrel Care plan?

Give us a month's notice by email or at the desk. If the care you've had on the plan was worth more than you've paid in, we ask for the difference.

What should I bring to a first appointment?

Vaccination records, the name and dose of any medicine, and a sample if we've asked for one. Cats in a carrier, please, and rabbits with a little of their usual food.

Nothing matches that. Ring the desk and we'll add the answer here.
