A large soft disc that trails the pointer and inverts whatever it crosses: over black text the letters turn white inside the disc, over the page it reads as a dark ghost. Hovering a headline swells the disc so whole words flip, which makes copy feel touchable.
A 44 px white disc with `mix-blend-mode: difference` lerps toward the pointer at 0.14 per frame, so it swings a little behind the hand. Hovering `[data-target]` (the headline here) scales it to 3.4× over 0.35 s with a soft overshoot; the scale is applied on a child so the lerp transform and the scale never fight.
