Counter Narrative: A Day Told by Its Numbers
A city bike share's Tuesday told in eight moments while a sticky dashboard keeps time: as you scroll the story, the clock runs from 06:00 to midnight and the ride count, kilometres and carbon saved climb with the real shape of the day, morning peak and all, over an hour-by-hour bar chart that fills as you go.
The mechanic
Scroll is time: the reader advances the city's clock with every paragraph, and the numbers climb at the pace the day actually had, so the eight-o'clock rush is felt as the counters racing.
